Welcome,
I hope that this website may be of some interest to all who visit here whether you are a Freemason or not.
A brief history of our lodge is that it was founded on the 15th of March 1768 when it was granted a Charter from the Grand Lodge of Antient Free and Accepted Masons of Scotland.
At that time, it was the third Freemason's lodge to operate in the towns of Musselburgh and neighbouring Fisherrow - the other two being Lodge Aitchison's Haven and Lodge
Musselburgh Kilwinning (sadly these two lodges no longer exist).
An unusual feature of our lodge is that we open our meetings in the Third or Master Mason Degree and our ritual was handed down to us by Brother R Robertson when he became Master of the Lodge in 1889 and follows the rituals practiced in many parts of the United States. The reason why this came to pass will be explained further when we have the opportunity to upload a more detailed account of the history of 112 in particular and of Freemasonry in the town in general shortly.
I hope that you enjoy visiting this website. If you have the opportunity one day to visit the lodge you can be assured of a very warm welcome.
Fraternally yours,
Derek Mather
